“Commuter Creativity: How One Woman Transported Her 55-Pound Pooch on the Subway with a Clever Backpack Hack”

It’s no secret that humans and pets share a strong bond and don’t like to be separated. Separation anxiety is a common issue among dogs, and sometimes we also feel the same way. However, there are instances where we want to take our furry friends along with us, but we have to adhere to certain rules. In New York City, for instance, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority imposes restrictions on pets travelling onboard their subway systems.

Are you planning to bring your furry friend on the subway in NYC? Well, the bad news is that you need to keep them in a kennel or similar container. But don’t worry; you can still hold the container on your lap and make sure it won’t annoy other passengers. However, be mindful that your pet shouldn’t stick out of the container to avoid violating the rules. Some pet owners are pushing the boundaries to take their beloved pets with them, but let’s not forget to follow the guidelines and respect others riding the subway.

Jackie Hornung, an avid animal lover, has recently gained online fame on TikTok for her heartwarming videos featuring her Samoyed dog named Lumi. Her videos depict her taking Lumi along with her on outings in the city, and she follows all the rules by carrying her furry friend in a backpack like a child. The adorable content has resonated with millions of viewers, who have fallen in love with the 55-pound bundle of joy that is Lumi.

As per Newsweek, Hornung revealed that her furry companion Lumi is about 18 months old. The name Lumi means “snow” in Finnish, which perfectly suits his appearance. She further added that he absolutely loves the attention he receives while traveling in the subway.

It’s amazing how strong the bond between a pet and their owner can be, as we humans will go to great lengths to keep them close.
