In San Jose, an amazing and touching relationship has formed between a Siberian husky and a kitten for almost seven years. What started as a caring bond has developed into an inseparable friendship that moves those who see it.
The story starts with the discovery of a beautiful long-haired mixed-breed cat named Rosie, who was only two and a half weeks old when found by Thi Bui, a co-founder of Mini Cat Town, a non-profit kitten rescue organization. Rosie’s health was in a critical state as she was sick and malnourished after being abandoned in the city streets. Thi quickly took Rosie to their adoption center to ensure her recovery. Despite receiving round-the-clock care, Rosie’s survival chances were low, and Lilothehusky, an Instagram user, recalled that she appeared weak and lifeless. Faced with a tough decision, Thi decided to introduce Rosie to Lilo, her Siberian husky companion, hoping it would help Rosie’s situation. Thus began a beautiful journey of companionship between Rosie and Lilo, forging an unbreakable bond. Lilo became Rosie’s loving mother, and since their first meeting, their connection has grown stronger. Lilo’s affectionate nature and resilience have surpassed everyone’s expectations and resulted in a remarkable friendship that continues to inspire many.
Thi, who is responsible for taking care of both Lilo and Rosie, shared her insights with The Epoch Times. According to Thi, Lilo displayed a compassionate attitude towards Rosie from the very beginning. She not only looked after her after meals but also allowed her to nurse even though Lilo didn’t produce any milk. With Lilo’s tender care, Rosie made a remarkable recovery within a few weeks and could soon join her furry companions for outdoor walks. Thi was so touched by the bond between Lilo and Rosie that she decided to adopt Rosie herself on National French Fry Day in June 2015. As time passed, Rosie’s unique personality blossomed, and she became a lively and curious seven-year-old cat. She is not afraid to express her feelings and will vocalize her discontent when left behind by Thi and her family. Lilo and Rosie have now become inseparable, preferring each other’s company over interactions with other household animals. They enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and even car rides with their heads out the window, solidifying their unbreakable bond.
This friendship between Lilo and Rosie is nothing short of special. It goes beyond their immediate circle, and even the kitty sitter shares their incredible journey and daily activities on Instagram. The sitter firmly believes that their bond can inspire many people. Lilo and Rosie’s relationship has contributed to the rescue of over 1,200 kittens through Mini Cat Town. As a result, the organization is preparing to open another adoption floor in the Bay Area. Thi, the kitty sitter, is grateful for the support that Lilo, Rosie, and all the rescued kittens have received. She emphasizes how their story continues to spread hope and kindness.
