A Heartwarming Tale: The Resilience of a Disabled Dog with Bent Legs as He Navigates an Uncertain Path

In the middle of February, tire repair technicians Ozimar Queiroz and Lindomar Queiroz were surprised when they showed up early to start their day at the tire shop on Belmont Road in the North Zone of Porto Velho. The reason for their amazement was the discovery of a stray dog by the roadside. This gentle creature was small in size, had injured paws, and was unable to walk.

Moved by the dog’s situation, Ozimar, also known as Galego, decided to care for the dog temporarily until he could find a permanent home. However, it has been 20 days now, and the dog still remains without a forever family.

“We found him abandoned in front of our store one morning. We felt really sorry for him, so we took him in and have been looking after him. But unfortunately, he is still in a tough spot. He can’t walk properly because his front legs are positioned backwards,” Ozimar explains.

Given the dog’s position on the board, they affectionately named him Seal, as he is unable to move due to his outstretched paws.

The tire shop workers moved him around a bit, but eventually, he found his way to a muddy spot next to a stray cat. Lindomar Queiroz mentioned to G1 that the dog is friendly and in need of medical attention, but unfortunately, he doesn’t have the means to provide it.

“We decided to call him ‘Foca’ because of his appearance. Although he was a bit skinny when we found him, he’s starting to fill out now that we’re taking care of him. Unfortunately, he’s covered in mud from the rain, but we can’t wash him here,” Lindomar stated. The news of the dog being abandoned spread on social media, and Foca has since been welcomed into the home of a couple from Porto Velho.

The tire repair employees who discovered the pit bull on the street looked after him for close to three weeks, ensuring he had enough to eat and drink. They initially named him “Foca” until Michele intervened and gave him a new name for good.
“It was a case of love at first sight. The situation he was in really touched me. He was already vulnerable, and on top of that, so gentle and kind. I fell head over heels for him,” shared the economics student. “I adore him. There’s no other way to put it. I love him deeply. It’s like a mother’s love.”
