A skinny Boxer was abandoned in a garbage bag near a shelter, and upon initial discovery, there were doubts about her survival.
In addition, Hope, the dog they gave the name to, wasn’t the only one found in a dire situation. Along with her was a male Boxer who was tied to a pole next to her. The condition of both dogs was heartbreaking and caused emotional distress for the shelter staff at Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption in Mission, Kansas. Hope was lying inside a garbage bag, barely able to move, while Triumph, the other Boxer, had difficulty standing.
Early this morning or last night, two dogs were abandoned on our property. Unleashed Pet Rescue discovered them and shared their story. One of the dogs, named Hope, was found in a trash bag and is severely undernourished and weak. She requires antibiotics and pain medication. The other dog, Triumph, is unable to move his hind legs.
The dogs were quickly taken to the veterinarians for testing and medical attention by the staff. Hope was in a critical condition as she had an infected uterus known as pyometra. Additionally, she also suffered from a severe elbow infection. An ultrasound revealed masses on both adrenal glands as well as one in her brain. Although the masses are probably cancerous, the rescuers are waiting for test results to determine the extent of her cancer.
Danielle Renó, the CEO and founder, is optimistic that the cancer has not advanced so that the dog can spend her remaining weeks, months, or even a year at home, where she will be pampered. The rescue center shared some good news after providing medical care to the two dogs for several days. Hope, one of the dogs, has gained 7 pounds and can now walk! Despite still being on antibiotics for her infected elbow and pyometra, she is in much better spirits.
Overall, Reno expresses that she is impressed with the fighting spirit of the person in question as she continues to show the world that she is a fighter. The person is constantly improving and their determination is evident in the way they carry themselves. There is also good news on the side of Triumph who was shared in a video walking, showing progress in his recovery.
The message indicated that the dog is currently receiving medical attention to improve his back and leg muscles, which is a challenging task given his mobility limitations. The approach involves physical therapy, including water therapy, aimed at enhancing his overall recovery. The writers added that the dog is a kind and affectionate animal who is putting in the effort to recuperate while staying in his foster home. Renо reassured everyone that they wouldn’t give up on these deserving dogs and would keep them updated on their progress.
