A young dog in a small town in Alberta, Canada, was tragically hit by a car and left injured in the snow for half a day. The poor pup had a broken pelvis and was unable to move, with temperatures dropping below freezing. It seemed unlikely that she would survive such a dire situation. Luckily, a group of teenagers spotted the injured dog and quickly alerted the AB Task Force, who then contacted the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). The dog was eventually rescued and taken to SAVEvet after spending nearly 12 hours in the freezing snow, her body heat causing the snow around her to melt. Thanks to the quick actions of the rescuers, this brave little pup now has a chance at a brighter future.
Nutmeg, the little puppy, was overjoyed to be reunited with the kind people who saved her when she was discovered.
Nutmeg is currently recovering from a broken pelvis, which means she will need to rest in her crate for the next six weeks. AARCS mentioned, “It’s important to give her lots of treats, affection, and gentle back rubs during this time!”
Check out Nutmeg enjoying some well-deserved love and treats. Once Nutmeg is fully healed, she will be ready for adoption through AARCS. Learn more about this organization on their website.
